Amy N. Elgin, OTR/L, BCP
Amy N. Elgin, registered occupational therapist, board certified in pediatrics, partner, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1997. She earned her Board Certification in Pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association in May 2008. Amy’s primary focus for continuing education over the course of her career has emphasized specialized areas related directly to pediatric therapy, including sensory integration, autism, early intervention, and school-based therapy. In addition to her pediatric specialty, Amy has also provided occupational therapy services in acute care, out patient and home health settings. Some of the educational courses she has attended include: “Fundamentals of Hand Therapy”, “Neurodevelopmental Treatment for School System Therapists”, “The Impact of Sensory Processing on the Daily Life of Children with Autism and Related Developmental Disorders” and “Sensory Processing in Children with Autism and Related Developmental Disorders: A Training Program for Occupational and Physical Therapists in School and Preschool Practice”. Amy is an annual guest speaker at St. Francis University on such topics as: ”The Development of Hand Skills and Fine Motor Skills”, “Providing Psychosocial Occupational Therapy in Schools”, “Medical Model versus School-Based Occupational Therapy”, and “Introduction to Sensory Integration”. She has also guest lectured at Seton Hill University on the topic of working with children with multiple disabilities. She presented at the National Autism Conference in August 2003 and at The Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association Conference in October 2006. Amy is an active member of both the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association. She has been employed by Camco Physical and Occupational Therapy since 1998.
